Wimpy morning this Tuesday
The 7th Diary of a Wimpy Kid book is being released on Tuesday November 13, and the Petaluma Copperfield’s is throwing a Crazy Release Party between 6:30-8:30 a.m. that morning.  Be one of the first to get first dibs on the book, enjoying a breakfast of hot chocolate and donut holes before it’s time to go to school.  Get all the details at The Village.

Friday, Nov 9
Fundraiser Play Day:  My Gym Santa Rosa is holding a fundraiser party to raise funds for those affected by super storm Sandy on the East Coast.  From 3:30-6pm, kids aged toddler to 9-years are invited for an afternoon of play for a $10 requested donation per child.  All proceeds will be made to the Red Cross (cash or check only).  3267 Airway Dr., Santa Rosa.  575-4975

Saturday, Nov 10
Plaza Renovation Kick-off: After months and months of renovation, the Santa Rosa Plaza is hosting a Renovation Celebration to show off the new digs.  Santa will lead a children’s parade starting at the 4th Street plaza walkway at 10 a.m. followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:45 a.m.  Throughout the day there will be entertainment, including a juggling duo, balloon artists, and a magician.  There will also be giveaways and door prizes galore, plus an Instagram contest for photos of your favorite part of the renovation with hashtag #NewSantaRosaPlaza, with winners chosen ever Saturday through 12/15.  More information at facebook.com/SantaRosaPlaza.

Petaluma Holiday Crafts Fair:  At one of the first craft fairs of the season, the 24th annual event has 60 exhibitors showcasing their original creations at the Petaluma Community Center – everything from wall art, ceramics, and seasonal decor, as well as jewelry, clothing, and bath works.  Lucchesi Park, 320 N. Open Safari: Safari West is throwing a huge block party every Sunday through December 16th to view their grounds and all their exotic residents for only a fraction of the cost. Sunday, Nov. 11
9th Annual Turkey Party:  As a fundraiser for the Redwood Gospel Mission, guests are invited to a party of some of the best food in Petaluma and mingling with friends and neighbors where the cost of admission is just one frozen turkey (or as many as you’d like to bring).  Many local caterers and restaurants are donating their food for your noshing enjoyment, several vendors will be there for shopping delights, and an exciting raffle will be going on throughout the event with some pretty great prizes.   Visit turkeyparty.blogspot.com for details on the party and to get directions to attend.
