It’s summertime! School (for most of us) is finally out!  That is either a really great thing for you, or it’s leaving you with a feeling of panic and dread. Regardless of where that leaves you, the kids are now going to have a ton of free time on their hands. Help fill some of that time with my list of 10 fun (and cheap!) things to do as a family.

Here are some more fun things you can do this weekend around town!

Through June 9

Saturday, June 8
Beekeeping Tours: Bear Foot Honey Farm invites the public to come learn about beekeeping and honey at their farm every second Saturday, weather permitting (it must be 60 degrees or higher and not raining, which will definitely be the case this weekend). Tours run every hour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. No reservation is needed unless you have 10+ in your group. Saturday, June 8
Bicycle Skills Rodeo: Kids ages 5-13 can attend a free bike event to master bike skills, get fitted for a low cost helmet, and get their bike inspected for necessary adjustments and safety needs. They can also attend a safety education course and receive a novelty bike license. Saturday, June 8
Aqus Foundry Festival: A day long music festival featuring popular Bay Area bands, and a benefit for COTS. Saturday, June 8
Foothill Park Water Bark: A popular event where well-behaved dogs and owners can take part in off-leash play and go for a swim, complete with plenty of vendors and perks for dog owners. $5 per dog, plus $7 parking fee for non-park members. 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Foothill Regional Park. 899 Arata Lane, Windsor.  parks.sonomacounty.ca.gov

Sunday, June 9
Pixar in Concert: The Marin Symphony performs memorable scores alongside clips from favorite Pixar movies, including Brave, Up, Cars, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and more. $35-$75 adults, $20-$45 youth. Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium, Marin.  marinsymphony.org/pixarinconcert
