Should PB&J be banned?
The growing number of kids with nut allergies has given cause for alarm at many schools, particularly with the parents whose child is prone to a severe reaction if they come in contact with nuts of any kind. Some schools have taken measures that include forbidding anything in lunches that includes peanut butter or other nut products, or by seating kids with nutty lunches at separate tables from the rest of the students. Parents of kids with no allergies feel their rights are being infringed upon as schools search their child’s lunches or by treating them like “bad” kids when they bring PB&J to school, while parents with kids who have nut allergies feel attacked while trying to protect their children. Sonoma County Book Festival: Book lovers of all kinds should definitely visit downtown Santa Rosa this weekend to hear live author readings, poetry slams, peruse bookseller booths, and meet local authors.
